Five questions to ask if you’re not sleeping well
Sleep is critical for our emotional, mental and physical well-being. In fact, a study from the University of California-Berkley showed that just one night's loss of sleep produced a 30% rise in anxiety levels compared with how the participants reported feeling the night before.
Given the current situation we’re facing around the world, the importance of a calm, relaxing, clutter-free bedroom cannot be understated. The condition of one's bedroom helps to set the tone for the close of the day and the beginning of a new day, and if your space is cluttered and chaotic, this too contributes to the anxiety.
Below are several questions to contemplate if you're not sleeping well:
1) How would I describe my bedroom? Is it a calming, supportive oasis? If so, fabulous! If not, what would I change about it?
2) Are the flat surfaces in my bedroom (bedside tables, chests of drawers, etc.) covered in clutter?
3) How does my current space contribute to my emotional, mental and physical well-being, both positively and negatively?
4) What external factors might be preventing me from a good night's sleep and how can I minimize those factors?
5) What steps can I take to change the current state of my bedroom?
Practicing self-care is more important than ever, my friends. Please take good care of yourselves, sleep well and stay healthy.
