Live Light tip #3: Create a vision board

Block off a chunk of time (15 minutes, 30 minutes, or an hour, if you can) with no interruptions and no screens. Find a quiet space where you can spend time with your thoughts and imagination.

Close your eyes and take a few deep breaths in and out. Begin to consider how you want your home to look and feel, and capture your thoughts in a notebook or journal.

Do you desire a peaceful sanctuary?
Do you want a creative, inspiring home?
Do you want a minimal, simple, clear space?
What words, phrases and images come to mind?

Challenge yourself to dream big and let your imagination run wild. Anything is possible!

Using these thoughts and ideas as inspiration, you can create a vision board. Grab a few magazines and look for words and images that inspire you and support the vision you imagine for your home. As you find words and images, cut or tear them out, arrange them on a sheet of poster board and glue into place, then stand back and admire your visual representation of what you want your home to look and feel like.

Display your vision board in a prominent spot in your home and read it every single day. This is your visual reminder of what’s possible.
