Want to love your home?
I love to be at home. My home is a sanctuary and retreat from the stressors of everyday life.
It's a source of comfort, calm, and peace, and it's my favorite place to be. I feel incredibly lucky and grateful to live in a space that brings me joy and supports me and my life.
Sadly, many people don't love where they live. Instead of their home being a happy place, they feel a sense of dread every time they walk through the front door.
If you're not crazy in love with your home, how do you inch a little closer to liking the space in which you live?
A good question to reflect upon is, what do you enjoy doing when you're at home?
Maybe you enjoy sleeping.
Using that as a starting point, focus on making your bedroom your sanctuary. Get in the habit of making your bed every morning. Clear off the tops of your bedside tables and dressers. Pick up the clothes that are lying on the floor. Remove the visual clutter and distractions.
If you like to cook, then start by wiping down the kitchen countertops, loading the dishwasher, and tidying up the countertops. Again, remove the visual clutter so you can see your space more clearly.
Focus on the spaces you love and give them love. In other words, take care of the things that take care of you.
Your efforts will support your daily life, provide positive reinforcement, bring calm to your inner and outer world, and light that internal spark of love you're seeking.
