Setting limits

When working to declutter and organize your closet and wardrobe, some people find it helpful to impose limits or rules on the number of items they own. Putting self-imposed boundaries in place around the amount of clothing one owns can be an easy way to simplify one's wardrobe and end the constant wrestling of "to keep or not to keep?"

It's critical that these rules are self-imposed, and not given by others (this approach can cause resentment and backsliding). Once the rules are in place, it's also critical that the individual honors this commitment to themselves.

Otherwise, if we keep bringing new items into our closets without releasing anything, our space becomes bloated and stagnant.

Incorporating these rules into your life will take energy and effort (which is true of anything that matters to you), but having a decluttered closet with a simplified wardrobe opens up physical space and diminishes the mental clutter and overwhelm that comes with too much stuff.

If you need help with this process, I'd be honored to assist. Please reach out and we'll talk.
